European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) | Mar 2017 – Present

  • Leading the analysis of particle collision data from LHC experiments (ATLAS/CMS), searching for signs of new physics in event datasets containing billions of records. In particular, focused on identifying rare events and suppressing background noise.

  • Introduced AI and machine learning methods, significantly improving detection efficiency and accuracy compared with conventional analysis approaches.

  • Built an analysis platform for high-dimensional data using statistical modeling, Bayesian inference, and high-performance computing.

  • Promoted the application of AI to research infrastructure, achieving automation of data processing, shorter analysis times, and more efficient experimental operations. This contributed to faster research output and improved team-wide productivity.

  • Applied particle physics analysis methods and AI technologies to biology, contributing to the study of neural mechanisms, brain information processing, and cognitive functions. Promoted interdisciplinary research leveraging physics-based approaches.

  • Also engaged in mentoring early-career researchers and graduate students, as well as preparing documentation for analysis tools, contributing to knowledge sharing and talent development.

  • Applied expertise in anomaly detection, troubleshooting, and risk mitigation to the analysis of contractual and legal risks as well.

  • In joint development projects with companies and research institutions, responsible for coordinating and building consensus on contract terms such as intellectual property rights, data usage, and publication schedules. Balanced the interests of multiple stakeholders while ensuring compliance with research ethics and data governance. Gained experience in drafting English-language contracts and manuals, and conducted contract review and negotiation preparation.

  • In collaborations with overseas research institutions and industry partners, handled conflict resolution and consensus-building regarding technical differences of opinion and schedule coordination.
